Hibernian FC kick off their new share issue campaign to provide supporters the opportunity to own up to 51% of shares in the club. With the use of our microsite technology–Hibernian supporters can buy shares directly on the Hibernian FC website.

With chances of silverware in sight–Hibernian are offering their loyal fanbase a share in their success.

Leeann Dempster, CEO of Hibernian FC says, “We are committed to widening supporter ownership, up to a controlling interest of 51%. We have also said that every penny we raise through the sale of new shares will be invested in funding the Club’s football ambition. None of it will go to any existing shareholders.
“That means supporters can gain ownership, allowing them to protect and invest in their Club, secure in the knowledge that the money they spend goes directly to the Club they love and support. This is all about building momentum and securing the Club’s future.”

Fan Ownership Made Simple

This is the first time a football club has enabled fans to buy shares directly on their Club’s own website. I spoke to The Scotsman last year about the loyalty of football fans and the huge potential share ownership has in the football industry. I firmly believe the best place for a football club to offer shares is from their own website.

We offer the technology and handle the financial regulations to enable simpler fan ownership so clubs like Hibernian can focus on promoting their campaign.

The Scottish Government is supportive of fans having a greater role in the decision-making and running of their clubs. A commitment to consult on this is contained in the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.
